Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend, But They Can Be A Guy’s Worst Nightmare!

•What size diamond should I choose?

•What makes a diamond ‘sparkly’?

•What style should I go for?

These are all important questions that someone looking to propose needs to consider (we are being traditional in the guy proposing, but it doesn’t have to be that way round!) and it can be an absolute minefield; if you don’t navigate it properly, you can end up with a huge hole in your wallet!

But never fear! Having started the journey along the ring-road (groan!) ourselves, we have put together these articles to help you along your way.

One of the first things you may come across in your diamond searching is the "4 C's", but what do these actually mean. Each article below will explain each of these C's and what it means to your searching. There is also an unofficial fifth 'C'. This is for certification and will explain how to read a GIA diamond certification report and what the important points to note are. We have also added two extra articles; the first is about the different styles of rings and whether you should look at bespoke or ready-made rings. The final article is an overview of everything in these blogs and how much or little you should worry about them.

6. What style ring should you choose?

7. What does this mean for you?

Note: A bit about us.

We are not jewellery experts, just jewellery lovers! We have done some extensive searching looking at engagement rings for our own use and discovered that there is a lot to know! We had no idea there were so many difference between diamonds that affected their sparkle and appearance. Therefore, we wanted to write these articles to help other partners in their search for a ring; an engagement ring is a symbol of love and commitment and, as it will likely be worn for the rest of their lives, finding the right one is an important task!
